Jake Curran is an Everett-based musician, Catholic poet, and community architect whose career is defined by high-volume output and a relentless commitment to the PNW music scene. With a discography spanning over a decade, Curran has successfully bridged the gap between the raw energy of the punk circuit and the cinematic, intentional sound of his current era.

A Legacy of Output

Jake’s professional foundation was built in the DIY indie-punk trenches with Counterproductive. Over ten years, he served as a central figure in the band’s prolific run, releasing a full-length album, two EPs, and a series of singles. This era was marked by three national tours and a reputation for high-stakes live performances, proving his ability to build and sustain an audience from the ground up.

The New Era: The Purgative Way

Moving from the chaos of the skatepark to the nuance of the waterfront, Jake has rapidly established himself as a force to be reckoned with through his solo project, The Purgatives. He wasted no time in asserting his solo viability, releasing his debut full-length album, The Purgative Way (January 2026). Co-produced by Nashville’s John Gold and Seattle’s Loden Johnson, the album is an exploration of atmospheric Alt-Rock, trading distortion for the spiritual and emotional weight of fatherhood and faith.

Momentum & Market Presence

In a remarkably short window, Jake has leveraged his veteran status to command a new foothold in the local scene. Whether fronting the premier tribute act Pop Disaster, performing his original compositions at high-end venues, or curating talent for staples like The Lucky Dime, Curran is a "Full-Stack" music professional. His evolution into intentional, high-end performance spaces reflects a shift in focus—offering a premium experience that remains firmly rooted in the emotionality of his punk-rock origins.

Having recently become a father, he is looking to switch things up in this season of life. He’s trading skateparks for cafes, basements for company parties, frat houses for farmers markets, underpasses for waterfronts and dive bars for high end venues.
